Started on Kansas farmland

The track was founded in 1963 on low-producing farmland by third-generation Kansas farmers Marcellus Sally and Helen Simon.

Track founded

Kansas International Dragway begins with the Simon family and becomes part of the state's drag-racing history.

The facility has operated as an NHRA sanctioned track since its founding.

2023

Family leadership returns

Steve and Sherryl Simon, plus granddaughter Gwen (Simon) Kelley and husband Keenan, took over operations in 2023.
