Racing action was at its best
on Sat. night with the Pro Mods in addition to our
2nd points series race. In the Pro Mod class, Final
round regular Stan Smith was paired with the beautiful
Pontiac of Mike Cooper. Cooper was first out of
the gate, with both cars on and off the throttle
Cooper was crowned the champ when both crossed the
finish line at a 4.56 for a hole shot victory.
Super Pro was a battle of heavy weights Steve Beeny
and James Kunkle. Beeny taking the easy win as Kunkle
-.008 red lighted his chances away at back to back
wins, but Beeny was wound tight and left with a
.001 reaction time. The Pro class was summed up
with another repeat final round contender Mike Winkle
taking on the always tough Jon Maugins. Maugins
was a solid .035 on the tree and left little room
for Winkle to work with and broke out trying to
make up the starting line difference. Sportsman
was ran over by Fred Kaufman and Mark Johnson, as
both were fully aware of the others ability to play
the game, Fred took the easy road as Johnson lite
the red bulb by -.006 and Fred left with a tight
.013. The Junior dragster class was a family affair
in the Cooper camp with Aaron taking the win over
sister Julia. With a big starting line advantage
to Aaron, he was able to play the game down track
and not break out for the win.
As always we would like to thank you for your support,
and we will see you at the races.

This weekend Saturday night
PRO MODS with qualifying at 3:00 and 5:00pm with
first round 1st round approximately 7:00pm give
or take. Open time trails during the day for the
2nd K.I.D. points race. Junior Dragster first round
at 3:30pm and one scheduled time trial for Super
Pro, Pro, and Sportsman following the 2nd session
of Pro Mod with first round to follow after a short
break for the crew. Friday night Test and Tune Gates
open at 6:30pm till midnight or later. Saturday
gates open at 11:00am open time trials at 12:00pm.
See you at the races!!
June 7,
2008
After a late start for the
first points and heads up race due to the windy
conditions that made our freshly prepped track look
like a dirt road, the program was on its way in
a hurry with little to no delays throughout the
night. With 111 cars overall, the first official
race was a success.
The night ended with Chuck Hines and his camaro
in Super Pro taking top honors, over the always
tough Dan Welch in his beautiful corvette. The Pro
class was a battle of the pit buddys with James
Kunkle in his mustang with a victory over Mike Winkle
in the roadster due to a red light start. The Sportsman
class was bulldozed through by Joe Novacek as he
met last years sportsman champ Eric Warkentine in
the final as Eric was gunning for BIG JOE and went
red by a mere -.006 But Joe was ready to rumble
as he was .037 and 1 over for the easy win.
The Junior Dragster final had a couple familiar
faces as Trevor Ruge took the easy cruise to victory
as a motor slowing Jacob Novacek was -.007 red and
had a few in the bank as Jacobs car was slowing
every round.
The heads up action was capped off with Cliff Akins
with his bracket like camaro taking the win over
a lifting Kurt Riffel in his chevelle in the Outlaw
10.5 class. The final in True 10.5 was a nail biter
as Marty Chance narrowly drove around Keith Lopez
mustang, with Lopez having a huge advantage out
of the gate but the Chance Converters mustang was
pouring on the power and took the stripe by 14 thousandths
for the win. Keith hooked the golf cart trailer
up to his 5.70s running mustang and drove home.
How many of you can say that! In The Drag Radial
class Hot Rod Dowell took full advantage in his
mustang over rear end broken #1 qualifier Chris
Nichols that could not make the final.
The Pro Mods took a vote and decided to postpone
the class until the following week June 14th due
to the high winds.
We are working as hard as we can to make K.I.D.
a place that you can bring out the family for a
safe and exciting night of great racing action close
to home.
As always, thanks for coming out and we will see
you at the races.
May 31, 2008
Due to the amount of rain
of last night and the threat of more rain this morning,
we are not going to be able to race today. There
is water standing all over and would take hours
to pump out and with the lack of grass it just makes
everything worse. Everybody ask mother nature if
she will let us play next weekend.
May 24, 2008
Mother nature let us run some
last night but the rain came in about 12:30am and
seemed like it came in buckets. A Flooded track
with more rain in the forecast means that we are
out of luck the rest of the weekend. Weather permitting
we will be running next Friday Test and Tune and
Sat. with some good racing action.

May 12, 2008
Weather permitting we will
be running our first test and tune this Friday night
from 7:00pm till 2:00am. We are not completely finished
with the renovations but we are going to open and
finish up within the next month or so with the remainder
of the projects. Saturday we will open the gates
at 12:00pm for a test and tune and with a gamblers
race. We are canceling the big bucks race since
its our first weekend open and want to be able to
run a race of that size efficiently. Our new schedule
will be out this week as well.
May 7 , 2008
Mother Nature was not good
to us this week for working and we did not get completed
what was needed to run. We will redo the schedule
in the next couple days and next weekend we will
run, it might not be the Big Bucks race but we will
let you know soon. Thank you for your Patience.
May 1 ,
2008
We have run into some troubles
on a few things that are keeping us from opening
this weekend. The Simon's would rather hold off
and make it right then push it and look like a circus.
They would hope that everyone has the same feelings.
We will keep you posted, as a result we will have
another schedule change to look for. Thank you for
understanding and we will see you soon at the races.
April 23, 2008
We are getting very close
to having everything wrapped up and ready to race
but we are missing a few key things that we will
be working on this weekend. We are hoping that we
can run a test and tune on Friday May 2nd. We will
keep everyone posted. Check out the pics if you
have not yet.

Dragway would like to wish you a Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Years.
December 18, 2007
Kansas International Dragway
has been selected as the official name.
December 17, 2007 Just
to let you know after negotiations with Wayne Roberts
of WIR Inc. both sides have finally come to an agreement.
We have purchased nearly everything but the concession
trailer, timing system, and score boards. Unfortunately,
we could not secure the name WIR in the buyout package.
With a fresh new look must come a fresh new name
that we will all be proud to represent.
The lease that was
to end April 08 was also part of the package, therefore,
we have complete possession of the track at 61st
& Ridge Road as of today. That means no downtime
for our renovations when we should be racing!!!!
We will be posting
our progress on any and all updates and equipment
purchases.
We are excited to
get things going and look forward to seeing you
at the track in 08.
